Practice edition
Privacy policy
Last updated 21 April 2026
This policy covers the Practice edition of Times Table Trainer — the app available from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and at practice.timestabletrainer.co.uk. It is written in plain English for the adult who installs and pays for the app.
The Student edition used in schools is governed by a separate policy, a data-processing agreement with the school, and UK GDPR requirements specific to pupil data.
The short version
- No account. No sign-in. No personal details required.
- All quiz history, profiles, and settings are stored on your device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
- If you subscribe, the purchase is processed by Google Play or Apple and tracked by RevenueCat — we do not handle card details or know who you are.
- No advertising. No analytics. No third-party trackers.
- Data stays in your country. Nothing crosses borders except the subscription receipts handled by Google, Apple, and RevenueCat.
What the app stores on your device
The app keeps a local database on the device containing:
- Quiz sessions (questions, answers, timing, scores)
- Mastery data for each times-table pair
- Profile names and avatars you create
- Accessibility and quiz preferences (font choice, contrast, timer visibility, etc.)
- A cached copy of your subscription status
This data never leaves the device. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
Third parties
RevenueCat (subscription management)
When you open the paywall, purchase, or restore a subscription, the app communicates with RevenueCat. RevenueCat sees a randomly-generated anonymous device ID, the product you bought, and receipt information from Google or Apple. RevenueCat does notreceive your name, email address, or any information about your quiz activity. RevenueCat's own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Google Play / Apple App Store
Purchases are processed by Google or Apple under their own terms. We receive no card details. Please refer to their privacy policies for how they handle your account and payment information.
Children
The Practice edition is designed to be installed and configured by a parent or carer, and used by a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. No account is ever created, and the child never enters their name, email address, or any other identifying information into the app. Any profile name is chosen locally and stored only on the device.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your data on any server, most UK GDPR data-subject requests are satisfied directly by the app itself:
- Access and portability: everything the app knows about you is visible in the app.
- Erasure: delete a profile inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything at once.
- Rectification: edit your profile or settings in the app at any time.
To request deletion of purchase records held by RevenueCat, or to exercise any other right, contact us at the address below and we will forward the request to the relevant processor.
Data controller
The data controller for the Practice edition is Stephen Lavender, trading as Times Table Trainer. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@timestabletrainer.co.uk.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data in a way that affects you, we'll update this page and change the “last updated” date above. Material changes will also be highlighted in the app.
